Element keys & remotes
The Element key and remote do different jobs
Cutting and immobilizer recognition
The 2006 Element manual explains that the ignition key contains electronic circuits recognized by the immobilizer. An incorrectly coded key will not start the engine. If your key turns but the immobilizer indicator flashes, include that detail in your enquiry.
Remote battery or ignition key?
Honda separates the remote transmitter from the immobilizer-key information in that manual. The immobilizer key described there has no battery. Tell us which item has stopped working before buying a replacement or assuming a remote battery will fix a starting problem.
Check the existing locks
For an Element replacement or spare, give us the year, working-key status and whether the ignition or door locks have been replaced. We confirm the suitable service and availability at the vehicle’s location.

Key questions
Will a plain cut key necessarily start an Element?
The 2006 manual requires a properly coded immobilizer key for starting. A blade that fits the lock does not by itself establish that the electronic key is recognized.
Does the Element ignition key need a battery?
Honda says the immobilizer keys described in the 2006 manual do not contain batteries. The separate remote transmitter is a different item to identify.
Can you check my Element if every key is missing?
Call with the year, vehicle location and any known lock or ignition changes. We will confirm the replacement options and required ownership details before arranging a visit.
